Provides Foundation And Roadmap

For Lifelong Emotional Healing and Spiritual Growth

The therapeutic program is a deep, emotional healing process designed to uncover and resolve psychological, social, and spiritual impediments to healing. Our goal is to not only relieve suffering but to achieve the full restoration of the lives of our clients. We believe emotional healing and spiritual growth are lifelong journeys, and our program provides the foundation and roadmap for success.

Our Services

At The Way Institute, all of our services are offered in an Intensive Outpatient Program. We offer three treatment packages, each lasting 12 weeks, which vary by the number of initial consecutive days of therapy our client attends prior to transferring to our weekly follow-up group. Neuropsychiatric medical care is provided with each plan.

Full-time attendance is from 9 AM AM to 5 PM Saturday and Sunday, with one hour for lunch, and from 6 PM to 9 PM on weekdays. Our follow-up group, from 6 PM to 9 PM on Saturday, has a larger attendance and is dedicated to the individuals who have completed the daily groups as well as family members and significant others.

In choosing the plan for you or your loved one, we encourage you to consider the following:

People with a chronic illness will benefit the most with the longer initial daily therapy. Chronic depression and anxiety are often associated with a history of trauma, which is best successfully treated with an initial twenty-eight days of intensive focus.

Adults suffering from chronic substance abuse also require longer intensive daily care. Detox is not offered and clients who are actively abusing substances are not appropriate for our program. Success in the program requires a sincere commitment to sobriety and the willingness to address the psychological, emotional, social, and spiritual issues underlying addiction. Maintenance suboxone is available.

Our program is not adequate for persons suffering from active psychosis, mania, or suicidal ideation. Inpatient stabilization is necessary prior to the consideration of IOP.

Short-term issues including recent deaths, relationship break-ups, and work or family crises often respond to the shorter periods of daily intensive treatment.

Admission to The Way Institute requires an initial interview with our clinical director to assure we can provide the help you need.

"Thank you for the opportunity to help you and your loved ones. Medical Director

William A Van Horn, MD, the founder and Medical Director of The Way Institute is a Diplomat of The American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology with over 30 years of experience as an expert in the treatment of neuropsychiatric illness.

In 1990, Dr. Van Horn was a pioneer in Christ-centered deep emotional healing. As Medical Director of many inpatient and outpatient Christian programs, he has assisted thousands of people and families in transforming their lives and establishing a true experience of God's peace, joy, and love.

As a radio host on Christian radio in Atlanta, Dr. Van Horn inspired his audience to never settle for less than the full blessings of the Christian life. He is also the author of The Seven Steps To Passionate Love, an in-depth process focused on assisting couples in achieving true fulfillment in their relationships.

Inspiration for the establishment of The Way Institute arose from Dr. Van Horn's intense desire to offer an opportunity for true healing and restoration. As the field of psychiatry has progressively moved toward medication as the primary treatment avenue, the need has greatly expanded for a comprehensive option addressing the whole person: body, mind, and spirit. The Way Institute is Dr. Van Horn's contribution to the families who desire more.
